It can be done by checking the status of the Assessment in the Assigned Panel.  There are other subtle ways to identify whether the Assessment has been submitted or not. It can be done by analyzing the change in icons of the actions column.

                                                                                                                               Icons to Edit and Submit are shown and the status is Saved.



Once the assessment is submitted the status is changed from saved to submitted and the icons of edit and submit disappear instead preview and request to re-open icons appear.


 Note: Request to re-open an assessment can be made only when the assessment has been submitted.
